Expressive E Osmose

Combining traditional craftsmanship with modern technology, Osmose is the result of more than 10 years of research and development and feedback from world-class artists. Osmose introduces new physical gestures that allow musicians to interact with sounds and produce music. In doing so, the player's existing keyboard skills are not only respected, but enhanced. Each note can be articulated independently, offering unique expressive possibilities.

The EaganMatrix sound engine

To offer new expressive possibilities, a seamless interaction between Osmose's unique keybed mechanism and the sound engine is required. Expressive E has therefore partnered with Haken Audio to integrate the powerful EaganMatrix sound engine into Osmose. The modular sound engine combines many types of digital synthesis (including physical modeling, FM and more), making it a workflow-oriented soundbox. Osmose ships with more than 500 presets, each of which has been manually customized with efficient macros that open up new possibilities for sound exploration.

A playful experience

All internal sounds in Osmoseʼs extensive library are tailored to take advantage of the unique keybed. Osmoseʼs unique sonic identity is a combination of highly detailed acoustic, electronic and hybrid sounds that can add nuance and variation to any musical genre. These sounds have been carefully designed to respond to the slightest movements of the player and uniquely utilize the three-dimensional sensitivity of the keys to create effects such as struck notes, vibrato, legato, layered dynamics, and more. This makes discovering and controlling osmosis sounds fun and refreshing!

Designed to support external synthesizers

Osmose is not only a traditional MIDI keyboard controller, but can also connect to computers and other instruments as an MPE MIDI controller. It also features polyphonic Aertouch support, a multichannel MIDI mode, and global pitch bend. All of these changes can be made directly through the Osmose interface, without the need for a computer.
