Neumann MCM 114 Set Woodwinds Product Details
Outstanding recording quality for the close range
The Miniature Clip Mic MCM system clearly overcomes the limitations of electret capsules. As a typical Neumann microphone, it reliably and precisely captures the characteristic sound of all acoustic instruments in live applications. In terms of natural sound, functionality, reliable mounting, and durability, it redefines the standards. The modular design allows for easy replacement.
The capsule system: perfection in 8 parts
Tonal balance, a more natural bass and midrange, and transparent highs at a new level: the newly developed KK 14 with cardioid pickup pattern leaves behind the previous limitations of the electret principle and fully reproduces the characteristic sound of acoustic instruments. Neumann has developed a unique, layer-based design for this purpose. In this process, all components are designed for optimal performance, manufactured individually, and then assembled by hand. Strict quality controls guarantee an unprecedented level of sonic consistency: each capsule sounds exactly the same and delivers a typically neutral Neumann sound. This saves time during setup and sound checks, since manufacturing tolerances no longer have to be compensated for by EQ. With an extremely low self-noise (23 dBA) and a maximum sound pressure level of 153 dB SPL, the KK 14 delivers perfect sound for both very quiet and very loud instruments. The titanium housing is extremely rugged and designed for multi-year live use.
Connectivity
The Miniature Clip Mic MCM system includes interchangeable cables for 3.5 mm jack, Lemo, Mini-XLR 4 pin and MicroDot - adapters are not required. The microphone can also be used wired with the MCM 100 output stage and 3.5 mm jack plug.
