2024 - Top Rated Company 2024
Musikhaus Korn has been honoured by Trusted Shops with the "Top Rated Company 2024" award. The best 300 shops were selected from over 30,000 retailers with the Trusted Shops seal. This makes Musikhaus Korn one of the 300 most popular companies in Germany. We are very proud of this award and would like to thank our customers for their trust in us. A big thank you for this and at this point also a big praise to our team for this strong performance!
2023 - Melodies need electricity
We started planning our first solar installation on our logistics centre in Oschatz as early as spring 2022. At the end of 2022, 66 Vision H 3.0 solar modules from the Solarwatt Group were installed within 4.5 hours with the active support of the owner. The system was completed at the beginning of 2023 with a storage system from E3DC with emergency power supply. The system currently has a peak output of 24 KW. The Oschatz site is thus self-sufficient from the electricity grid and feeds the excess production into the public grid. In 2023, the second half of the south side of the logistics centre will be equipped with modules. Our KORN Case construction factory will also receive a solar installation.
2022 - 25.02. - We turn 25
A great day! - Today we celebrate our 25th birthday. A lot of history behind a "small" idea that became big very quickly. From one shop to five branches and from a personal love of music to a shared interest with our customers. With this, we would also like to thank all our customers who have accompanied and supported us over these 25 years. Here's to the next 25 years!
2020 - Over 1.000.000 customers
In 1997 all this actually started in a garage, which we can celebrate today (27.10.2020) with a seemingly simple sentence on our homepage. "We have been able to inspire more than 1,000,000 customers with our service so far". We would also like to take this opportunity to thank you and you very much. Without you - and especially in 2020 - this would never have been possible! Many thanks for your loyalty and support over the last 23 1/2 years!
2019 - Musikhaus Korn Halle (Saale) opened
In the middle of September 2019 we opened another Musikhaus Korn in Halle an der Saale. With our first music store in Saxony-Anhalt, we now operate a total of five stores in Oschatz, Leipzig Connewitz, Leipzig Zentrum and Dresden. With Musikhaus Korn Halle (Saale), the "Händelstadt" now also has a competent supplier of musical instruments, event technology and DJ equipment. Our new music store is located in the Rannische Str. 20. On approx. 300 sqm you will find products from our complete assortment.
2018 - Our biggest stage - Stage M80
The Stage M80 is now our largest mobile round arch stage. With a stage area of 10m x 8m it convinces guests and artists by its enormous dimensions alone. A special highlight are the hydraulic springs, which are powered by electricity and thus extend the roof to over 5m in a matter of seconds. We are currently renting out 7 mobile stages. 2018 - Dresden store now even more space
At the beginning of September 2018, we not only completely rebuilt the store in Dresden but also significantly enlarged it. Especially the exhibition of digital pianos, DJ-equipment and PA-technology has been extended. A new Custom Shop area for especially noble and unique guitars has been added. Also this KORN operation took place again in the running business. We would like to thank all our customers for their understanding.
2017 - KORN Cases factory - New Winter CNC milling machine
Since August 2017 our KON case builders are supported mechanically by a modern CNC milling machine from Winter. With the computerised milling machine it is possible for us to reproduce cases fast, exact and 1:1. Due to this we increase the quality of the cases significantly and the delivery time is substantially reduced. KORN Cases are Made in Germany.
2017 - KORN Rental park expanded
In June 2017 we expanded our rental park for event modules and stage equipment as well as sound and light technology. In addition to our trampolines, segways and the KORNWALL we also rent a KORN Disco Dome jumping castle, a KORN goal wall and a biathlon laser shooting facility. 2017 - KORN Case factory
Since March 2017 we produce KORN Cases in our own case building factory. The KORN Cases are handcrafted and custom-made from our experienced case builders and fulfil our high standards on 100% top-quality cases. We are able to realize customer requirements and proposed modifications fast and without problems and to build a suitable case for almost every equipment. KORN Cases are Made in Germany.
2017 - 25.02. - We celebrate 20 years!
20 years ago business owner Denis Korn established the company in Oschatz. On 25 February 2017 we took the opportunity to celebrate with more than 200 guests not only the 20th anniversary of Musikhaus Korn but also the 40th birthday of the owner in the town hall of Oschatz. At this point we would like to give our warmest thanks for the numerous congratulations and we are looking forward to the next jubilee birthday in 2027.
2017 - Deejayladen - New webshop online
Since 5 January 2017 the new Deejayladen webshop is online, based on Musikhaus Korn V8 webshop which was released on 5 January 2015. With the completely new version many fast and improved KORN features are now also available at Deejayladen. The Deejayladen webshop was completed by further program lines that increase the performance for all devices again. According to our in-house development this will be the last version of the webshop that constantly will be updated with additional functions.
2016 - The 6th KORN music store opened
With Musikhaus Korn Leipzig Gohlis we opened our third music store in Leipzig on 1st November 2016 and with this the sixth in whole Germany. Musikhaus Korn is nowhere more locally present than in the trade fair city Leipzig. Unchanged, a variety of musicians and artists characterise the city at the Elster. Leipzig is in an unevitable change and still a playground of creative individuals of the country. Art and music is required and encouraged in Leipzig. One reason for Musikhaus Korn to increase our presence here.
2016 - Operation ERP
After 13 years we raised our merchandise management system to the next level without disrupting operations at 1st July. The upgrade was really necessary - although the "old" version never broke down thanks to the loving care. Now we have again enough space in all range of numbers. Furthermore we used the change to open the new version for forthcoming shop features - as it is wellknown for Korn. It is and remains exciting.
2015 - New KORN music store in Oberwiesenthal
On February the 2nd we opened a new retail store in the spa- and winter sports resort Oberwiesenthal. Our new venue is located in the heart of the city and is the highest situated music store in Germany. Our goal is to offer all the ski, snowboard and trekking enthusiasts a welcoming music store, where they can browse through our assortment in a holiday-relaxed atmosphere.
2015 - The new KORN Online Shop is launched
After 3 years of development we finally launched our new online shop on January the 5th. The whole development process was managed by our in-house-team and the effort was truly worth it. The shop provides a unique and satisfying shopping experience with its intuitive navigation and fully responsive web design that adapts the layout to the actual viewing device. These features make our shop the most innovative one in Germany. Browsing for instruments and equipment has never been easier or faster.
2014 - Musikhaus Korn resumes PlugIn Music Leipzig
With the acquisition of PlugIn Music Leipzig in June 2014 we expanded and opened our fourth music store in Germany. Therefore Musikhaus Korn is the most present music shop in the upcoming trade fair city situated at the river “Elster”. Numerous musicians and artists influenced the cultural development of Leipzig strongly within the last years. It was a logical consequence to open a store in the centre of the city in addition to the store in Leipzig-Connewitz, to give Leipzig another meeting point for all enthusiasts of music and guitars. The new shop in the centre of the city is our specialized shop for guitars and you will find the largest assortment of guitars, basses and all kinds of accessories.
2013 - 10 years SummerSummit, a jubilee
In July 2013 we celebrated a decennial jubilee of our SummerSummit Open Air that l two days this time. Over 2.000 visitors had come to our premises in Oschatz/Lonnewitz and together with a variety of bands and DJs they celebrated till the early morning.
2013 - Musikhaus Korn Dresden now more centrally located than ever
Because the Musikhaus Korn store in Dresden was no longer able to withstand the flow of visitors it moved to a larger place on the 2nd of May 2013. Today the store is more centrally located and offers more space to discover and experience music instruments, DJ and event equipment.
2012 - Award at “Grand prize of medium-sized businesses”
After the eighth nomination by the county of North Saxony, the District Office of Delitzsch, the city Oschatz and the IHK Leipzig, we received the “Grand prize of medium-sized businesses 2012” on the 22nd of September 2012 in the 18th round of this competition.
2012 - SummerSummit celebrates visitor record
Despite threatening tempest clouds and extreme rainfall while setting up the festival, the ninth SummerSummit Open Air received a new visitor record on the 7th of June 2012. Overall 1800 music fans found their way to Musikhaus Korn in Lonnewitz and due to the high-class music acts the evening was an impressive experience for guests, musicians and staff.
2012 - Korn goes Mobile
In April 2012 Musikhaus Korn released a native smartphone shopping app as first music store in Germany. The “Korn Shopping App” is free and available for iOS and Android. With it, it is possible to search for products and order them comfortably via smartphone. The smartphone app faced impressive demand and became popular very quickly. It excellently caters to the needs of musicians that are always on the road, in the rehearsal room or busy with jamming.
2012 - Musikhaus Korn resumes Touched by Sound
In April 2012 Denis Korn decided to expand further and so he carried on the “Touched by Sound” corporation business. Therefore it was possible to broaden the range of recording and studio equipment by a large factor. The previous contractor of “Touched by Sound” who ran the business since 1993 decided to hand over its established retail after 19 years of successful business activity.
2011 - Award for “Entrepreneur of the year”
On the 26th of March 2011 Denis Korn received the award for the third prize of the competition “Entrepreneur of the year” as representative and owner of Musikhaus Korn. The prize is endued by the “Sächsische Zeitung” and awarded to medium-sized businesses in Saxony that work with idealism, commitment and courage and accomplish to further the local economy.
2010 - More of Musikhaus Korn in Leipzig
Because the music store in Leipzig enjoyed continuous high popularity, they soon threatened to burst at the seams. The high response of customers affected the removal to newer and grander business rooms in April 2010. Since then it is possible to offer a much broader product range and optimise supply and demand.
2009 - Musikhaus Korn for the capital city
The time was right in 2009 to bring the joy of having the unique offers and services of a Musikhaus Korn to the capital city of Saxony - Dresden. In October 2009 the time had come to open the doors of the third Korn store. On 250sqm and two floors one can find several show rooms where high quality instruments and modern DJ or studio equipment are provided for discovering and testing.
2009 - Move into new business rooms
After the logistic centre at the head office in Lonnewitz, the new and modern open-plan office in the attic floor of the grand barn was finished in 2009. Short ways and fast communication enable effective teamwork for our team. This kind of open-plan office has proven its worth sustainably and optimises intra-corporate processes.
2008 - Music instruments for the trade fair city
The consistent growth of the company rose interest for a further store in Saxony. In 2008 we decided to take the step to open a Musikhaus Korn shop in Leipzig. The store got established very quickly and became a meeting point for creative musicians and all who set a high value on extensive offers and excellent service
2006/07 - The logistic centre comes into being
With the acquisition of the music store in Riesa the stock of products and the exhibition space at the head office in Lonnewitz doubled in size. The necessity for further space grew bigger. Without further ado the grand barn of the manor was remodeled into a modern logistics centre with two floors.
2006 - Award for “Company of the year”
With pride owner Denis Korn received the award for “Company of the year” in 2006. The prestigious prize was awarded by the former mayor of Oschatz. With this prize the head of the city appreciated the efficiency and fast increase of the company as well as its role as regional employer.
2006 - JUMP ON TOUR at the SummerSummit Open Air
The annual SummerSummit festival quickly became a highlight among regional summer events. That is why the radio station MDR with its “2006 JUMP ON TOUR” live broadcast could not miss this open air festival. At one evening during the festival JUMP broadcasted the whole event and created an evening to remember for guests and staff.
2006 - The last piece of the puzzle
A real music store is defined by its musical instruments. When Tilo Reschke planned to dismiss his music store in Riesa in 2006, the chance was there to open a sales area on the upper floor of Musikhaus Korn in Lonnewitz. Now the assortment of DJ, studio, PA and light equipment was completed by musical instruments.
2004 - The SummerSummit is born
The new headquarters in Lonnewitz were so generous in terms of space that they are perfect for regular in-house exhibitions. The goal was clear: Customers should be able to get in direct contact with representatives of different manufacturers, get informed about new products and build up a trustful relation to our company. This plan was put into practice in 2004. The in-house exhibition was topped off by a party in the evening with numerous DJs and guests that were in in an excellent mood. This was the official starting shot for the annual SummerSummit festival.
2003 - Move into historically portentous rooms
Constant extension caused space problems and the necessity to search for alternative business rooms. The nearly 200 years old justice estate in the district Lonnewitz seemed perfect for a new company domicile. Immediately the venerable basic fabric was restored and enlarged, roofed and the old barns were remodeled into inviting sales floors, modern offices and storages areas. On the first of November the business could start again.
2001 - The first store opens
The “Deejayladen” was the first store of Musikaus Korn and it opened on the 26th of March 2001. Whereas the local press was surprised and wondered what this music store was about. Among DJs and music enthusiasts the shop became known very quickly. The opening of the store with focus on DJ equipment spread like wildfire across the borders of the region around Oschatz and the Deejayladen soon was established as place to go for a loyal clientele.
1999 - Into the World Wide Web
Slowly but continuously the Internet was about to change the world thoroughly. The company explored new potentials to further its business. The logical consequence was the opening of the first online shop, which continuously became bigger and includes over 50.000 products by now.
1997 - How it all began
It began with music running through his veins. As early as in the age of 18 founder of Musikhaus Korn “DJ Denis” Korn put on music in front of an audience regularly. He was confronted with questions about the DJ equipment he used with increased regularity and also where to purchase it. That is why he came up with the idea to turn his hobby into a profession. Consequently he founded the one-man business operating under the name “Star Dust” on the first of March 1997.
