Esi M8U eX

Based on the popular automatic port detection of MIDI signals announced by ESI, each of these 16 ports can be used either as a MIDI input or as a MIDI output, so that not only conventional 8 in / 8 out MIDI solutions such as the predecessor models are replaced, but also other applications are possible, such as the use of 16 outputs or 16 inputs. All other combinations such as 12 outputs and 4 inputs are also possible, whereby each configuration is automatically indicated by multi-coloured LEDs on the front. If the number of MIDI ports is not sufficient, multiple M8U eX can be used simultaneously - made even easier by the integrated fast USB 3.0 hub. Other USB devices, such as software dongles or USB keyboards, can also be connected to M8U eX, making it the hub of USB and MIDI hardware in your studio or live setup. The 100% Class-Compliant device can also be powered via USB. M8U eX works directly without drivers under Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 and macOS (32-/64-bit). However, the hardware can also be used without a computer: the button on the front panel can be used to select different modes, which then forward signals internally and allow the device to be used as a thru or merge box. Signals from several inputs can be combined to one output - signals from one input can also be forwarded to several outputs.
