Drum sets are complex instruments with a lot of different parts and they should always be protected carefully when transported or stored. Basically one can choose between bags and hard cases. Bags can be transported easily and will only take up a small space when they are empty. They have to be handled with caution when transported along with other equipment.
Hard cases offer much more safety, but are bigger, heavier and also more expensive. When drums are transported frequently, cases are the first choice to guarantee a save storage.
