But why didn't other manufacturers use a solid mahogany top sooner? The reason is that the wood has to age for a very long time and demands a lot of know-how from the guitar maker. because of the different structure of the wood compared to spruce or cedar, the soundboard has to be finished in a different way than usual. And it is exactly this special knowledge La Mancha has, some of the largest manufacturers of modern classical guitars based in Germany!
