Technical details of the Neural DSP Nano Cortex

The pedal offers 7 dedicated effect blocks for maximum sonic flexibility: two pre-FX blocks (Adaptive Gate & Transpose), three post-FX blocks (Chorus, Analog Delay & Mind Hall Reverb), a Neural Capture block for authentic amp replication and an extended IR loader for individual speaker simulations.

10 high-quality IRs (Impulse Responses) are already installed ex works, each of which can be combined with 5 microphone options and 6 microphone positions. In addition, up to 256 of your own IRs can be imported and used. The true bypass ensures that the original signal remains unaffected when switched off.

The extensive range of connections guarantees compatibility with almost any studio or stage situation. These include a classic guitar input (6.3 mm jack), two stereo outputs (1L & 2R/Capture), a Capture input as an XLR/jack combo socket, a 3.5 mm headphone output, an expression/MIDI port and a USB-C port for communication with the Cortex Cloud and for power supply.

Operation is via rotary controls for gain, bass, mids, treble, amount, level and headphone volume. Additional push buttons such as Exit, Capture, Save, Bank, FX, Ground Lift and Boost allow quick navigation and function access. Two footswitches (I & II) allow you to quickly switch between presets and activate effects during live performances.

The housing of the Nano Cortex measures a compact 144 x 103 x 62 mm and weighs just 620 g. Power is supplied either via USB-C or a 9-12V DC mains adapter (not included). Battery operation is not possible.
