The original Balladeer was developed in the 1960s and was the central soundhole model that started it all. Today's Balladeer pays tribute to the historic design while incorporating the many advances that have been made along the way.

A luxurious top made from hand-selected solid Sitka spruce (AA) is the heart and soul of this Balladeer. The deeply contoured cutaway body shape is the latest evolution of Ovation's groundbreaking Lyrachord design. This makes the Balladeer comfortable to handle both sitting and standing. Ovation's slightly shorter scale length and narrower nut give the 5-piece satin mahogany/maple neck a fast playing feel. The traditional, inlaid oak rosette gives the classic, high-gloss Ovation Cherry Burst finish a stylish character. The Balladeer's full-featured OP-Pro preamp and OCP1K pickup provide uncompromising plug-in performance.
